A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Adam got his start performing and teaching in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky metro area, where he resided until relocating to Texas in 2012. His musical versatility became a useful skill early on, as he played on numerous projects ranging in genre from rock and country to funk and jazz, and all points in between. A 2011 graduate of Northern Kentucky University, Adam holds a BM in Music Education with a minor in percussion performance. He was named winner of the first annual NKU Symphonic Winds Solo Competition in spring 2010, and was a two-time recipient of the NKU Corbett Scholarship for the Arts in 2010 and 2011. As a marimba soloist, Adam was invited to perform with the NKU Symphonic Winds at the OMEA convention in January 2011, with the Lakota West HS Wind Ensemble in fall 2011, and with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra as part of their ‘Young Peoples Concerts’ educational series for the 2010-2011 season. In addition to performing and recording sessions, Adam maintains a large roster of private lesson students, offering instruction on drum set, percussion, bass, guitar, piano, music theory and songwriting/production through Austin Arts Academy (remote), Guilderland Music Academy, and Scotia Music Academy (in-person). His past teaching work includes service as assistant percussion instructor at Rouse HS/Wiley MS (Leander TX), director of percussion at Colerain HS (Cincinnati OH) and assistant percussion instructor at Conner HS (Hebron KY), as well as part-time teaching and consulting work with numerous band programs in Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Texas. When he is not gigging, touring, or teaching, Adam has also found success as a composer and arranger. In addition to writing wind and percussion arrangements for marching bands in Ohio, Kentucky, and Texas, he has also been called upon for string and wind arrangements for studio sessions, and commissioned for original solo percussion pieces and chamber music for college recitals. In 2016, Adam was hired by Austin community ensemble Panoramic Voices to write full orchestra arrangements to accompany songwriter Carson McHone at their annual "Indie Orchestra Night" concert. In addition to compositions and arrangements, Adam has also established a long list of clients around the US seeking charts and transcriptions, with projects ranging from simple chord charts for songwriters to transcribing surf guitar solos to writing Real Book style lead sheets for modern jazz music. In 2018, Adam began releasing albums of original music, starting with "The HouseDog Sessions", a project where he acts as recording engineer, producer, mixer, and multi-instrumentalist. New releases followed soon after, including an album of songwriter friends arranged as lullabies, a second HouseDog installment, an instrumental metal EP, and a project for virtual choir. Adam has recently taken interest in film and game scoring, and is always working on expanding his media music portfolio. All of Adam's original music can be found on Spotify, and is available for purchase & download on BandCamp.
